Abstract
The author examines the shortcomings of consulting projects, emphasising that they often do not align with the ambitious goals set, particularly within the corporate sector. Central to the analysis is the critical issue of the lack of knowledge and experience from both consultants and clients, which significantly hampers the adequate identification and formulation of problems requiring consultancy intervention. The author notes that the deficiencies in the performance of consulting projects cannot be solely attributed to cognitive and methodological limitations; rather, they possess a more complex and interrelated nature. The article also explores the differences in perception that pose significant obstacles to productive communication between consultants and clients. The author highlights a common mistake by both parties - the assumption of a shared understanding of the problem - which can lead to serious misunderstandings and a deterioration in project outcomes. The author investigates the key mechanisms that contribute to these misunderstandings and proposes several effective methods that may help address these shortcomings and improve the interactions between consultants and clients. In conclusion, the author urges business leaders to move beyond conventional boundaries and to more actively confront the challenges posed by the contemporary business environment
