Author Guidelines

When preparing a manuscript for submission to the editorial board of the International Business journal, authors should adhere to the following rules, which comply with the requirements of Russian standards for scholarly publications.

1. General Requirements for the Manuscript.

The International Business journal accepts original articles for publication in the following academic specialities (Economic Sciences):

• 5.2.5. World Economy;
• 5.2.6. Management.

Submission of a manuscript to the editorial board implies compliance with the following requirements.

• the manuscript corresponds to the journal’s thematic scope, is written in literate language, and maintains a scholarly style;
• the manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another publication;
• the manuscript possesses academic and informational novelty;
• the manuscript has a clear structure, sequentially comprising: the title of the article; information about the author(s), an abstract, keywords, an introduction, the main body (divided into thematic sections), a conclusion, and a reference list;
• the originality of the manuscript’s text must be no less than 80%;
• the use of artificial intelligence tools for text generation is not permitted;
• the length of the manuscript shall be between 20,000 and 60,000 characters including spaces, incorporating graphic images, tables, and the reference list;
• the authors bear responsibility for the accuracy of the information presented in the publication.

2. Requirements for Manuscript Text Formatting.

The International Business journal accepts articles in Russian and English for publication. The manuscript text must be formatted in accordance with the following technical requirements.

• The file containing the material shall be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
• The following page parameters shall be set:

• top margin: 2 cm;
• bottom margin: 2 cm;
• left margin: 3 cm;
• right margin: 1.5 cm;
• paragraph indent (first-line indent): 1.0 cm.

• For the body text, the following shall be used: justified alignment, Times New Roman typeface, 14 pt font size, and 1.0 (single) line spacing.
• The title and subheadings shall be centre-aligned and highlighted in bold.
• Any lists within the text shall be formatted using the numbering and bulleting tools in Microsoft Word.

3. Requirements for the Formatting of Graphic Elements.

Graphic elements (figures, diagrams, charts) shall be created using Microsoft Excel. Each element must have a sequential number, a title, and a source credit. This information shall be placed below the illustration in the following order:

• number (e.g., Fig. 1) and title: centre-aligned, 12 pt font size, bold;
• source: on a separate line below the title, centre-aligned, 12 pt font size, italic; a full stop is placed at the end of the sentence.

When formatting graphic elements, it is recommended to use the following colour palette (RGB model):

• R: 236, G: 225, B: 208;
• R: 220, G: 200, B: 168;
• R: 206, G: 178, B: 132;
• R: 190, G: 152, B: 31;
• R: 162, G: 125, B: 64;
• R: 116, G: 89, B: 46.

4. Requirements for the Formatting of Tables.

Tables shall be created using Microsoft Word. Each table must have a sequential number and a title. The following rules shall be observed during formatting:

• the table number (e.g., Table 1) is placed above the table, right-aligned, 14 pt font size, italic; no full stop follows the number;
• the table title is placed on the line below (immediately above the table), centre-aligned, 14 pt font size, bold;
• text within the table is set in 12 pt font size with single line spacing;
• the source is provided below the table, justified, 12 pt font size, italic; a full stop is placed at the end of the sentence.

5. Requirements for the Formatting of Substantive Notes and Non-Scholarly References.

• Substantive notes and references to sources that cannot be classified as scholarly shall be formatted as footnotes at the bottom of the page. The following settings shall be applied to footnote text: 10 pt font size, single line spacing, justified alignment.
• When using internet sources in a footnote, the full URL and the access date shall be indicated. For Russian-language resources, the phrase “дата обращения” (date of access) is used; for foreign-language resources, the term “accessed” is used.

6. Manuscript Structure.

English-language metadata shall include the following mandatory elements, presented in the order specified:

• title of the article: centre-aligned, 14 pt font size, bold, single line spacing;
• information about the author: the surname, first name, and patronymic (if applicable) shall be provided in full, along with the academic degree, academic title, position, full official name of the organisation, city, country, email address, and ORCID identifier (in the format of an active link);
• abstract (200–250 words): a self-contained analytical text intended to provide comprehensive information about the article; the abstract must clearly present the introduction, aim and objectives, methodological basis, and the key conclusions and results obtained during the research;
• keywords: a list of 5–10 words or phrases; words are separated by commas, quotation marks and parentheses are not permitted; no full stop is placed at the end of the list;
• for citation: formatted in accordance with the requirements of GOST R 7.0.7–2021;
• conflict of interest: an anti-corruption clause in which the author(s) declare(s) the absence of any conflict of interest.

The main body of the manuscript shall be formatted taking into account the following requirements:

• the provisions of Sections 1–5 of these Guidelines shall be observed when writing the main body of the manuscript;
• the main body shall be divided into thematic sections; section titles must be informative and reflect their subject matter; the use of the non-informative heading “Research” is not permitted;
• the introduction and conclusion must be proportionate to one another; the recommended length for each of these sections is 200–500 words.

The References should be formatted in accordance with the requirements of GOST R 7.0.7–2021. It should be compiled in accordance with the following requirements:

• scientific publications (monographs, articles in scientific journals, and conference proceedings) should be included in the final reference list; all other types of sources (journalistic articles, official documents, archival materials, media reports, and online resources) should be cited in footnotes in the original language;
• the reference list is to be arranged in alphabetical order; each entry must strictly correspond to an in-text citation;
• in-text citations should be given in square brackets, indicating the number of the source in the reference list (e.g., [1], [1, p. 2], [1, 2, 3]);
• the reference list should reflect the current state of research on the stated topic and demonstrate the author’s familiarity with the key findings of both domestic and international studies;
• for all sources that have a Digital Object Identifier, the DOI must be included;
• the reference list must contain at least 20 sources.
